In order for your system to work to the best of it's ability and avoid damage, it is very important to replace your filters on a regular basis. Not only does your filter trap dust and dirt, it supplies fresh clean air to your furnace and breathing air.
When you don’t replace your filters, the furnace blower motor must work harder to take in the air which slowly damages your system.
Air Conditioners also restrict air, therefore it is best to use the right filter and replace them each month.
Filters help to reduce allergens and dust from spreading throughout your home!
The main purpose of a furnace filter is to protect the blower fan from all the dust, hair and other gunk the return duct pulls in. While it will also help the quality of your inside air (as it is removing contaminants from being recirculated), its job is not to just actually clean your air as many people believe.
For 1-2 inch filters, replace them every 1 to 3 months.
For 3-4 inch filters, replace them every 6 to 9 months.
A water panel or a humidifier pad is a medium in which your humidifier collects moisture to increase humidity inside during the hot season. When indoor humidity is low, water flows to the pad and air gathered, blows over to distribute the water in the form of moisture.
A media filter is designed to improve indoor air quality. A media filter is made of a deeply pleated, paper-like material that removes dust, pollen, pet dander and other particles. As media filters are pleated and compressed, there is a lot of filter—up to 75 square feet—of media if you stretched it out.
