What type of water tank do you need for your home?
Tank or Tankless
Do you know the difference?
What capacity of tank do you need?
TANKLESS WATER HEATERS
This heats cold water on demand only as you need it. That makes them more efficient than standard tank models generally, but they’re more expensive to buy and install.
ELECTRIC WATER HEATERS
Where hot water usage is low, the cost of operating an electric water heater can be lower than the cost of a natural gas unit.
GAS WATER HEATERS
Though less affordable, Gas water heaters are typically cheaper to operate than electric. Based on energy savings, gas heaters generally make up the difference in price in about one year. Typically, there are 2 types of gas water heaters:
- Atmospheric Water Heaters: Atmospheric vent water heaters are simple and don’t require electric power or moving parts and have been around for a long time now. It is easy to replace and is often the least expensive choice.
- Power Direct Water Heaters: Power venting heaters are more energy-efficient because all the fuel that is used goes to heating the water. It uses a fan that allows for more consistent pressure to push the dangerous gases out of your home.
